Position: COUNTRY COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR

JOB PURPOSE:

The job holder shall be responsible for the formulation of the sales strategy, safeguarding and optimisation of the company’s financial and human resources through the implementation of appropriate selling systems and internal controls. The main responsibilities of the successful candidate, amongst other things will be to:

  • Formulate and implement sales & marketing strategy adding overall value to the business.
  • Formulate sales best practice guidelines/policies and ensure compliance with international standards
  • Implement sales routines and key performance measures to provide regular feedback on the company’s performance to key stakeholders within the Group/Country
  • Implement and audit sales controls and systems to ensure optimum efficiencies and limit exposure/risk
  • Conduct performance management and development of staff including succession planning
  • Roll out route to market distribution systems and set up key distributor models
  • Manage information system to enhance overall value to business operations whilst ensuring alignment to Group strategy
  • Plan & control annual budgets and monitor performance against these plans

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES/WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • MBA in Sales & Marketing or Bachelor in Sales and marketing with at least five years of exposure in a minimum of three international FMCG companies
  • Strategic sales management skills with proven people skills
  • Leadership acumen and progressive achievement through building successful teams by way of employee relations and motivation
  • 15-16 years of minimum experience in Sales & Marketing out of which at least 10 years in the beverage industry. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the capacity of a senior manager in the Coca-Cola system would be an added advantage.
  • A thorough knowledge of selling principles; Experience as a Senior Manager with exposure to international markets & brands
  • An understanding of organizational change processes Proven high levels of integrity

JOB PURPOSE:

The successful candidate will formulate the country’s business strategy and oversee the safeguarding and optimisation of the company’s overall resources through the implementation of appropriate business management systems and internal controls. The responsibilities will include:

  • Professional experience of at least 20 years plus working experience of a minimum of 15 years at the senior management level in a beverage industry is a must
  • Successful management experience in the capacity of a senior leader in the bottling industry of 50 million plus businesses in a world-class manufacturing environment
  • Strategic business management experience with demonstrated people skills – the capability to strategize sustainable business growth through cross-functional collaboration and on-ground execution
  • Strong process and systems experience
  • Varied cross-cultural experience in a progressive business environment
  • Pro-active commitment to developing and training staff in her/his competency to meet future needs
  • Knowledge of corporate strategy, financial analysis and economics, operational marketing and sales management, HR management, information technology and supply chain optimization
  • Proven high level of integrity
