The Vienna Center for Logic and Algorithms (VCLA) was established in September 2011 and officially commenced in January 2012 in the presence of TU Wien Rector Sabine Seidler and Turing Award winner Edmund M. Clarke. The VCLA was well-founded by Stefan Szeider & Helmut Veith led by both until the death of Helmut Veith in March 2016. VCLA funded a doctoral program in Computer Science (LogiCS) as part of Logical Methods. VCLA’s activities are usually co-financed by other grants and organizations.

Benefits of the Helmut Veith Scholarship in Austria 2024
- Applicants will be granted a 100% tuition fee at the TU Wien.
- Applicants will receive a stipend of approximately €6000 annually for up to two years during study.
Eligibility Criteria for the Helmut Veith Stipends Scholarship
- Female applicants from all over the world are eligible to apply for the Helmut Vieth Stipends Scholarship.
- Applicants should possess a bachelor’s degree in mathematics or computer science.
- Applicants should have extensive knowledge and curiosity in at least one of Helmut Veth’s research areas, including computer logic; formal methods and certification; Foundations of Artificial Intelligence; complexity theory; information security; and Proficiency in English.
- All applicants must be eligible for admission to one of the Computer Science Master’s programs (taught in English) at TU Wien (Vienna University of Technology).
