PATH seeks to recruit a Senior Program Associate for the initiative on improving health outcomes in Nepal. We are seeking a candidate with technical understanding and demonstrated experience in driving projects related to public health in Nepal (reproductive health, maternal, newborn and child health, nutrition, respiratory care, immunization), digital data technologies, and gender among others. In addition, the role would also be an interface with the global teams and country offices in PATH as well as external stakeholders including key donors, partners and government agencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact between country office leadership, global technical and operational staff, and partners.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders for newer collaborations.
  • Support the start-up of project activities, by coordinating work plan development and providing start-up operational support and backstopping.
  • Provide ongoing facilitation for the day-to-day implementation of project activities, working collaboratively with the Family Health team to quickly identify and resolve challenges to successful implementation.
  • Support the development, review and submission of deliverables and reports to ensure high-quality and timely deliverables.
  • Provide financial management support to country office teams through analyzing financial data, monitoring project expenses against budgets, and forecasting, with support from the Finance and Administration Staff.
  • Monitor compliance with sub-contracts and PATH policies, and identify and effectively communicate any risks to compliance.
  • Collaborate with other teams in PATH including diagnostics, Centre for Data and Digital Health, Technology, Innovations Health Systems strengthening, and Infectious diseases, for their technical inputs into project deliverables and activity plans.
  • Work closely with the relevant stakeholders, including ministries of health, universities, NGOs, civil society, and private sector partners in coordinating activity implementation.
  • Develop and write technical documents, such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), tools, checklists, and guidelines for training and capacity building of staff as needed.
  • Coordinate country buy-in level planning and review meetings to track the progress of implementation of interventions and ensure coordination between the program team and external stakeholders.
  • Document activities and field observations for program reports, and support in the creation of presentations for updates and meetings.
  • Maintain documentation, prepare reports, and document case studies, presentations, and best practices.
  • Provide technical and strategic inputs to the project teams.
  • Support the development of project strategy and work plan.
  • Coordinate with partners and donors for project coordination and reporting.
  • Represent the PATH work to the donors, central and State officials, partners, civil society, and private sector stakeholders.
  • Travel to project states/regions for monitoring and providing technical inputs.
  • Establish and maintain strong working partnerships with all partners and stakeholders.
  • Development of annual work plans, progress reports, and other required deliverables
  • Lead proposal development and new opportunity capture
  • Lead various initiatives to coordinate within the organization to create various learning documents from the projects.

Required Experience

  • Post-graduation in management or public health from a reputed university.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and collaborate work effectively with senior staff, colleagues, donors, partner organizations, stakeholders, local institutions, and others at all levels.
  • Familiarity with stakeholders in the MNCHN space
  • Strong problem-solving, and organization skills and a positive, solution-oriented approach to challenges.
  • Ability to work in a complex environment with multiple tasks, short deadlines, and an emphasis on quality.
  • Strong financial management skills, including experience in budgeting and tracking financials.
  • Excellent analytical, presentation and report-writing skills.
  • Excellent skills in facilitation, team building and coordination.
  • Extremely detail-oriented, with the ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong work ethic, resourcefulness, integrity, credibility, and dedication to PATH’s mission.
  • Professional proficiency in English is required,
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
