Background

The Story Kitchen (TSK) is a not-for-profit-distributing company registered in September 2012 under the Companies Act, 2006 Nepal. We envision a society, where every woman’s voice is heard, her existence is accepted, her work is accounted for, and her contribution is valued. Our mission is to create a safe space for her stories and amplify the experiences of women in our history.  We are driven by the passionate belief that sharing and listening to the stories of women can build the movement and help ignite social change. In short, TSK is a space to amplify Herstory.

TSK is looking for an individual to take the role of Program Coordinator (PC) who has knowledge and experience working on prevention and response to Violence Against Women (VAW), Gender Equality and/or Transitional Justice and Peacebuilding. In close coordination with and strategic guidance from the Director of Programs and Operations (DPO), the Program Coordinator (PC) will take the lead in achieving the goal and objectives of TSK’s projects with the Delegation of the European Union and Civil Peace Service CPS/GIZ and will take the lead in achieving the mission and objectives of TSK.

Some major responsibilities of the Program Coordinator (PC) but not limited will include the: 

  1. Lead to ensure coordination with consortium partners through support and guidance for smooth implementation of project activities.
  2. Lead development and implementation of annual work plan and budget ensuring project management standards are followed and deadlines are met.
  3. Provide technical expertise in capacity building on project-related thematic issues such as violence against women, gender equality and peacebuilding.
  4. Provide technical and mentoring support along with supervision of the team members and consortium partners’ team members as per the need.
  5. Ensure activities are implemented and funds utilized by the contract and guidelines of the funding agency.
  6. Lead donor reporting as and when required and as per the grant compliance.
  7. Analyze periodic technical and financial reports in terms of results achieved, constraints and problems.
  8. Build effective working relationships by coordinating with project stakeholders including government agencies, engaging them at each project implementation stage and ensuring effective communications at all levels, 
  9. Strengthen partnerships with the Government, CSOs, and other stakeholders that are active in the project area to maximize synergies and achieve outcomes and impact across the project areas.
  10. Other works as and when required to fulfil the mission of TSK.

British Embassy Kathmandu Vacancy 2023 for Head of Finance


Required qualifications, knowledge and experience: 

  1. The applicant will have a Master’s degree in Human Rights, Gender Studies, Law or other related social sciences with at least five years of work experience in a similar position/responsibility or a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Rights, Gender Studies, Law or another related field at least seven years of work experience in similar position/ responsibility.
  2. Applicant will be a seasoned trainer, facilitator, inspiring leader, and passionate advocate for women’s rights.  
  3. Strong project management skills including budgetary, communication, and organizational skills.
  4. Excellent command of Nepali and English languages (written and spoken).
  5. The applicant will be a person of high integrity, committed to meeting deadlines and should have a passionate belief in The Story Kitchen’s vision and mission.
