Minimum Educational Requirements

For Civil Service Positions (Various Engineering and Technical Posts)

1. Economic Planning & Statistics Roles:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any field, including statistics or mathematics, from an accredited institution.

2. Civil Engineering (General Sub-Engineer):

• Certificate or equivalent in civil engineering from an accredited educational institution.

3. Civil Engineering (Highway Sub-Engineer):

• Certificate or equivalent in the relevant engineering discipline from an accredited educational institution.

4. Civil Engineering (Highway Lab Technician):

Relevant engineering certificate or equivalent from an accredited institution.

• Must complete one month of training as a civil laboratory technician.

5. Electrical Engineering (Electrician/Electrical Overseer):

• Diploma or certificate in Electrical Engineering from an accredited educational institution.

6. Electronics and Telecommunication (Communication Assistant/Radio Technician/Instrument Mechanics):

• Certificate level or equivalent in a related engineering discipline and 3 years of experience in aviation-related fields.

7. Mechanical Engineering (Mechanical Supervisor/Mechanical Overseer):

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineering at certificate or diploma level from an accredited institution.

8. Mechanical Engineering (Construction Equipment Supply Supervisor/Senior Mechanics):

Mechanical or Automobile Engineering certificate or diploma from an accredited educational institution.

9. Mechanical Engineering (Construction Equipment Supply, Senior Operator):

• Proficiency Certificate level or equivalent in Engineering with a license to operate construction equipment such as loaders, graders, dozers, and excavators.

• Alternatively, TSLC or equivalent with a license to operate at least two types of construction equipment.

10. Mechanical Engineering (Construction Equipment Supply, Senior Welder):

• Certificate or diploma level in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering from an accredited educational institution.

11. Mining Engineering (Mining Sub-Inspector):

• SLC or equivalent, plus a diploma in Mining or Surveying, or a Junior Survey Course.

12. Meteorology (Meteorology Assistant):

• Certificate level or equivalent in an engineering or science subject, with training in the relevant field or one year of experience.

13. Geology (Assistant Geologist/Technical Assistant):

• BSc degree with a major in Geology from an accredited educational institution.

14. Survey Engineering (Surveyor/Survey Inspector):

• S.L.C. with Mathematics, plus either a three-year proficiency certificate in Surveying/Geomatics or a certificate level in Science (Physical Group)/Geography with at least one year of junior surveyor training.

• For existing employees as of Bhadra 12, 2068, the educational qualification at the time of joining is applicable.

15. Chemical Engineering (Assistant Chemist/Technical Assistant/Senior Lab Assistant):

• BSc or equivalent, or ISc or equivalent in Food Technology, from an accredited institution.

16. Agriculture (Technical Assistant/Food Inspector):

• Proficiency Certificate Level (ISc Ag.), or SLC/TSLC with a three-year diploma in Agriculture (Plant Science major), or a completed JTA course plus one year JT course in Agricultural Science.

17. Livestock Production (Animal Service/Veterinary Technician):

• ISc Ag. or equivalent, or SLC/TSLC with a one-year diploma in Animal Science, or a completed JTA and JT course in Animal Science.

18. Food Nutrition and Quality Control (Technical Assistant):

• ITech in food technology or a three-year diploma or equivalent in food technology.

19. Forestry (Assistant Botanist):

• Proficiency Certificate level or equivalent in Biology.

20. National Park and Wildlife (Ranger):

• Certificate level or equivalent in Forestry.

21. Computer Operator:

• Proficiency Certificate level in computer science, or equivalent, plus six months of training from a registered institution, or a training program by the Ministry of Science and Technology.

22. Computer Technician:

• Certificate level in computer, electronic, or mechanical engineering with at least six months of computer repair training, or a year of training in computer repair.

23. Education Administration (Technical Assistant):

• Certificate level or equivalent in Education.

24. Library Science (Library Assistant):

• Certificate level in library science or any subject with at least one month of training in library science.

25. Visual Arts (Assistant Visual Artist):

• Certificate level or equivalent with at least five months of training in related subjects.

26. Visual Arts (Microfilmist):

• Certificate level or equivalent with at least five months of training in microfilm/prography, or two years of related experience.

27. Archaeology (Assistant Pathfinder):

• Graduate with History or Culture, or IA with a language certificate in French, German, Japanese, Italian, or Spanish.

28. Archaeology (Tibetan Language Assistant):

• Certificate or equivalent with knowledge of the Tibetan language.

29. Museum Chronologist:

• Graduate in Culture or History or equivalent, or Certificate Level in Culture or History with five months of training or two years of experience in the related field.

30. Museum Technical Assistant (Education, Archaeology):

• Graduate in history and culture, or IA with two years of experience in Nepalese archaeological currency work.

31. Photographer (Federal Parliament, Education, and Printing):

• Passed 10+2 in photography, or any discipline with at least six months of training or two years of experience in photography.

32. Videographer (Federal Parliament, Education, and Printing):

• Passed 10+2 in videography, or any subject with basic computer training and at least one month of videography training.

33. Message Operator (Federal Parliament, Technician):

• Passed 10+2 in video editing, or any discipline with basic computer training and at least three months of video editing training.

34. Mic Operator (Federal Parliament, Technical):

• Passed 10+2 with at least three months of basic computer and mic operation training.

35. Recording Operator (Federal Parliament, Technician):

• Passed 10+2 with at least three months of basic computer and one month of recording training.

For SLCE Certificate Holders:

• Educational certificates with a minimum D+ grade and a GPA of 1.6 in each subject (theoretical and practical) from classes 11 and 12, issued before 2078/9/7, are valid.

Healthcare Position Requirements:

(a) Internal Competition:

1. Radiographer (Health, Radiography):

• SLC or equivalent from an accredited educational institution.

2. Lab Technician (Health, Medical Lab Technology, JMLT):

• Certificate in Health Lab, or SLC with a 2.5-year course as Lab Assistant.

(b) Open and Inclusive Competition:

1. Staff Nurse (Health, General Nursing):

Certificate in nursing from an accredited educational institution.

2. Public Health Nurse (Health, Public Health Nursing):

Certificate in Public Health Nursing or Nursing.

3. Dental Hygienist (Health, Dentistry):

Certificate in dental hygiene.

4. Lab Technician (Health, Medical Lab Technology, JMLT):

Certificate in Health Lab, or SLC with a 2.5-year Lab Technician course.

5. Physiotherapy Assistant (Health, Physiotherapy):

Certificate in Physiotherapy.

6. Health Assistant/Senior AHW (Health, Health Inspection):

Certificate in General Medicine.

7. Medical Recorder Supervisor (Health, Medical Records):

Bachelor’s degree in Statistics or Mathematics.

8. Pharmacy Supervisor/Assistant (Health, Pharmacy):

Certificate in Pharmacy.

9. Radiographer (Health, Radiography):

Certificate in Radiography.

10. ECG Technician (Health, Miscellaneous):

Certificate in general medicine, or a science graduate with nine months of related training.

11. Optician Assistant (Health, Miscellaneous):

Certificate in Orthoptics.

12. Biomedical Technician (Health, Miscellaneous):

ISc or 12th class with one year of training in Biomedical Technician or Biomedical Equipment, or Certificate in Biomedical Engineering.
